And without question, the long-term use of antibiotics to treat chronic Lyme has more benefits than risks. I’ve seen what this disease can do to people when it’s not treated long term. It can disable people for life.
is the same in Canada as in Germany but we barely come close to the reported number of cases. Canada reports that it has the lowest numbers of Lyme disease in the world by WHO and the highest number of Multiple Sclerosis cases in the world 240-340/100,000 population. No other country comes close to this figure.
“In the past 20 years, since my first case of this disease when the patients were telling me that when all the standard medications were not helping the severe symptoms of pain, arthritis, fatigue, depression (with suicidal ideation), mental fog with multi-organ failure, they resorted to smoking marijuana.
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You
When Murakami learned that he, himself, had an asymptomatic brain tumor—discovered after hitting his head on a beam while playing hockey with his grandson—it led him to investigate the treatment of a brain malignancy. It was then that he came across the use of cannabidiol in dissolving a glioma tumor. Says Murakami,
The only colleague of mine who stood by my side was Dr. Pat McGeer, Neurological Disease Researcher at UBC and because of his support, he no longer has a license. We have both suffered the same fate because we chose to help Lyme patients.
He suffered at the hands of the College and it affected his health and well-being. Upon the insistence of his wife—who was worried about his health—he eventually decided to give up his license and find other ways to keep serving the Lyme community. But not without a good college try.
“The leading cause of death in Lyme disease is suicide — the depression is that bad.” – Dr. Murakami
Murakami’s long-term experience working with Lyme disease has given him ample opportunity to understand the controversy. One faction contends that the disease can be cured within a few weeks with oral antibiotics, such as doxycycline, despite that this method has already been disproven. The other side argues that long-term treatment is necessary to eradicate the cystic form of the disease.
“Other anecdotal cases of cannabidiol treating chronic infections resistant to the standard antibiotics convinced me that there was an antibiotic effect with cannabidiol….”

Since the incident, Marukami began to research cannabidiol on live spirochetes with positive evidence. He presented his findings in Fernie, B.C. in October 2014, which has lead to further research, which is currently being conducted at USA University.
Dr. Murakami’s patients regularly reported smoking cannabis when standard medications failed to treat their severe symptoms of pain, fatigue, and multi-organ failure. The doctor doesn’t believe in smoking a medicine, but he was intrigued by the mental and physical benefits of non-psychotropic cannabidiol.
Dr. Ernie Murakami, an 84-year-old activist, believes that he has found a potential cure for Lyme disease and many other illnesses with non-psychotropic cannabidiol (CBD) paste.
Murakami states that “research initiated by his association has in the first stage of testing Cannabidiol on live spirochetes has now provided us the positive evidence based study needed to continue with further testing.”

Doctors who provide a clinical diagnosis rather than relying solely on diagnostics are still treating and counseling patients based on outdated research and procedure. An example of this, is the appearance of a Bull’s Eye rash forming on the skin surrounding an infected bite. In the past, it was believed that this pattern of skin irritation was present in most cases of Lyme disease infection. This is actually false. Recent studies show as many as 76% of Lyme infected patients do not physically react this way.
Lyme disease is an infectious illness systemic to nature. The usual way of contracting Lyme disease is through a bite from a tick, often a Deer Tick. However, research has shown that other disease carrying insects such as mosquitoes may also be able to transfer the illness. It can cause over a hundred different symptoms and is very difficult to treat as the neurotoxin secreted from the bite alters chemical activity in the host at the cellular level, sometimes even altering our genetic makeup and DNA. An initial reaction to the bite may not even produce any visible symptoms or irritation, often infections may go unnoticed by the bitten for months or even years.
Contracting Lyme disease is relatively simple, but detecting the illness can be extremely challenging. Most doctors rely on outdated testing protocol, which has been proven to be inaccurate. The system currently in place often produces false negatives and does not detect co-infections within the body and other micro-organisms passed on by the Tick. The government released an advisory on problems diagnosing the illness in 2012 warning doctors. Still little has changed to improve the diagnosis process.
