This is a zero-THC formulation, which is a preferred option for some CBD consumers concerned about drug testing, including professional athletes. It uses plants from the spiritual home of CBD, Colorado, where it first rose to fame as an effective treatment for young Dravet Syndrome patient Charlotte Figi. And of course, it’s all organic, independently lab tested and extracted using the best methods. It’s also available in three flavours – lemon, peppermint and natural.

CBD oil FAQs
CBD is cannabidiol – one of more than 140 known cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. The CBD oil you can buy in the UK won’t get you high, but studies have shown it can reduce pain, inflammation, stress, anxiety, fatigue and gut issues as well as promote better sleep, feelings of joy, raised libido, improved focus, sports recovery and much more. You can find out more about the properties of CBD at the bottom of this piece, in the FAQs section.
Having tested well over 100 CBD products, it’s always a thrill for us to find one that is exceptional. Ardoa is producing CBD oil like none other we have ever tried – all of its products are extraordinarily potent and have been carefully formulated using high-strength cannabinoids from plants grown all around the world. The result is a range created by people who really get the cannabis plant, and what it has to give. But be warned, these are heavy hitters with a strong, hemp flavour – especially the indigo 66 s-drops that have been specifically formulated for night-time use.
This range is perfect for those who are in need of something that will make a big difference and, although these drops may seem pricey, they come in a 100ml bottle, as opposed to the usual 10ml or 30ml. One tester of Ardoa’s cerulean 53 drops, who has PTSD, said it felt like a miracle, adding that it stopped the cascade (referring to the “defense cascade”, an overwhelming phenomenon that’s common across a broad range of disorders and clinical presentations, including PTSD) in its tracks. Another tester got a full night’s sleep for the first time in four years after their first dose of the s-drops, and someone else found their grief-induced bad dreams stopped.
The most noticeable effect with this one was anxiety relief that lasted. It not only seemed to help with stress in the moment, but with the management of everyday anxiety as well. Despite only trialling a relatively low dose (500mg), this oil was as effective on stress and physical discomfort as much higher potency oils. And the mild, slightly nutty flavour was very enjoyable.
Cannabidiol, commonly referred to as CBD, is a new and relatively understudied treatment for pain, including back pain. Studies suggest it may help relieve inflammation, which is often a factor in chronic back pain. 1
Cannabidiol, even in high amounts, is generally safe. Side effects from CBD may include:
What Is CBD?

The cannabis sativa plant has two main varieties that are grown for specific purposes:
The oil has a natural taste with a faint orange aroma. The aftertaste is bitter but less so than some of the others on this list. After three drops under your tongue, three times a day, our tested immediately noticed better and longer sleeps as well as reduced pain from current and residual injury.
It’s only recently that I decided to try the “miracle medicine” for myself. As someone who has trouble sleeping, relaxing and switching off, I hoped it might provide a natural antidote to the constantly switched-on, anxiety-inducing world we live in.
If taste is a deal-breaker, MedTerra’s CBD oils have got you covered. The oils are flavoured with the likes of citrus – which tastes like you’re sucking on a lemon sherbet.
Hempura CBD Oil
We tried two from the range; the Broad Spectrum Cannabinoid tinctures and new Immune Boost Drops.
Our endocannabinoid systems all react differently to various types and strengths of CBD oil. Therefore, if you haven’t taken CBD before, it’s best to start on a fairly low dosage and gradually build it up.
CBD oil (also known as cannabidiol) is made from the stalk, stems, leaves and flowers of the hemp plant, which contain high amounts of active, therapeutic cannabinoids.
If you’d like to support a smaller boutique company, Holistic Hemp fits the bill. Using plants grown on small European farms, the pesticide and chemical free flowers are handpicked (unlike most on the market) meaning the oil is high quality. It even has a full floral flavour (thanks to the plants they choose) that offers a pleasant taste without interfering with the benefits. Offering 5, 10, 15 and 20 per cent options in various forms, this brand mixes hemp with cannabis seed carrier oil to create a full-spectrum product containing a variety of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids.
